In Thailand, an unusual incident saw a driver stranded on a bridge because of her GPS.
This car incident is undoubtedly one of the most unusual in recent times. According to several Asian media, notably The Vibesa driver found herself stuck on a bridge in Thailand. She simply wanted to cross a river with her vehicle. Not knowing the location, she used her GPS to guide herself.
She would have been better off not tracking her GPS. Following his instructions, she walked onto this bridge. The problem? It is not at all designed to support a car. Actually, the photo of the incident circulating online shows that it is barely wide enough for a vehicle to pass through.
His GPS suggests he cross a bridge reserved for pedestrians
This bridge is actually intended for pedestrians only, not motorized vehicles. Despite the strangeness of the situation, the driver decided to follow the instructions from her GPS. So she started driving across the bridge without thinking much.
Obviously, his attempt was unsuccessful. The car, too wide for the bridge, found herself completely stuck after traveling about fifteen meters. Since the bridge is 120 meters long, the driver found herself in a difficult situation.
Emergency services were called to help the driver
Luckily, the driver was not alone in the area. A passerby saw the scene from afar and alerted the relief. Although the driver is out of danger, the media do not know what happened to the vehicle. Apparently one of the wheels got stuck in a hole in the deck, thus immobilizing the car. By removing it, emergency services risked causing damage to the bridge. “I was focused on the GPS and didn’t look around. I thought the bridge was sturdy and probably used by other people. When I got stuck, I was very scared, because I was in the middle of the Yom River. I was afraid the car would fall into the river, so I got out of the car to get help.”, explained the driver to the Thai authorities.
