She went to Russia, nobody knows what will happen next. A Polish tourist is missing

In mid-August, Katarzyna Marciniuk set off on her next great expedition. Experienced traveler she usually hitchhiked, taking advantage of people’s kindness and willingness to help. She preferred eastern directions – this was also the case this time when she decided to drive through the occupied territories of Ukraine, get to Russia, and then go further east, towards the Caucasus.

She probably succeeded in this. At the beginning of September she wrote to her relatives that is in Chechnya. She didn’t contact me very often, she only informed me about her whereabouts every few days. She received such messages, among others: the woman’s sister or ex-husband who took care of their common children at the time. At some point, information from the woman stopped coming.

The last message reached them on September 2 – over a month ago. At the end of last month, on September 25 to be precise, relatives started looking for information about the missing woman on the Internet. There is no contact with her, it is not known where she is or whether she is alive. Although currently it is like looking for a needle in a haystack, these people do not lose hope. They hope to find someone online who met her while traveling.
