The ship is closely followed

Several county administrations and MSB follow the ship closely. In Kalmar County, among others, the coastal municipalities in the area are informed during meetings on Friday, according to P4 Kalmar.

The vessel MV Ruby was loaded in a Russian port on the Kola Peninsula and suffered hull damage. However, it is not welcome in the final destination in Lithuania, as the Danish media previously reported with reference to the Norwegian Maritime Administration.

The damage needs to be repaired

When the ship anchored in Tromsö, Norwegian authorities established a protection zone of 500 meters.

During an inspection, it was found that the damage needs to be repaired, but that it was not “desirable” that it should take place in densely populated Tromsø, reports The evening paper citing The Barents Observer. Then the MV Ruby was ordered to leave.
