SHIPWRECK OF OUR FOOTBALL: Nightmarish results of Serbian clubs put us at the back of Europe! – European Cups, Football

Looks like it’s about to get worse!

End of another week brings new concerns for our football clubs on the European stage, which have further worsened their already devastating statistics from the previous two years.

Red Star suffered a 2:1 defeat in Norway against Bode in the last round of Champions League qualification, which can be considered a lucky outcome considering the events on the field. Meanwhile, Partisan lost last night at home against Gent with 1:0 in the qualification for the League of Conferences, while TSC suffered a heavy defeat against Maccabi from Tel Aviv on a neutral ground in Hungary, ending the game with 3:0 in favor of the Israeli team.

These three new defeats further worsened the balance of our clubs on the European stage, which now counts only three wins, three draws and even 35 losses!

They achieved the only three victories in this period Partisan protiv Morning (2:0), Radnički 1923 from Kragujevac against Sailors (1:0) and Vojvodina against Maribor (2:1).

As regards draw, Red Star played a draw with Young Boys in the Champions League last year, TSC won a draw (2:2) against Olympiakos in the Europa League, while Partisan recently drew with Lugano in the Europa League qualifiers (2:2) after extra time.

All these defeats led to the fall of Serbia in the UEFA ranking, from the once excellent 11th position to the current 21st place. Given last night’s results, it’s hard to imagine this decline stopping anytime soon…
