One dead and three injured is the tragic toll in the traffic accident that occurred at noon on Sunday (21/07/2024) in Corfu.
The traffic accident happened at around three o’clock in the afternoon on Sunday (21/07/2024) in Corfu in the Sgobo area, when a tourist bus with 18 English passengers veered off its course and crashed into a truck parked on a side street of the main road.

The 31-year-old driver died from the severe impact, while three more people were injured. A British tourist and a mother with her child.
In fact, an entire operation had to be set up to free a mother and her child, since the front of the bus was wedged into the parked truck and it was impossible to free them.
22 firefighters with 5 vehicles tried to reach the scene, and they retrieved the unconscious driver from the bus carrying the tourists, while they freed an injured woman and a minor child who were taken by an EKAB ambulance.

One person was taken to the hospital with a broken leg, while other passengers of the fatal bus were taken to the hospital as a precaution.
The causes of the tragic accident are being investigated by the Corfu Traffic Investigation Department.
According to a statement from the Fire Department:
An unconscious man was pulled out, while an injured woman and a minor were extricated from a tourist bus and taken by an EKAB ambulance, as a result of a traffic accident, at 9.5 km of the Corfu-Paleokastritsa Province. 22 firefighters with 5 vehicles attempted.
