Residents of the Northern capital privatized 3,699 residential premises in 2024, including 2,428 apartments and 1,271 rooms in communal apartments. This was reported by the press service of the Housing Committee.
Thus, the total area of privatized housing in St. Petersburg exceeded 145 thousand square meters.
The department noted that the average area of one privatized St. Petersburg apartment is 51.5 square meters, and a room is 15.8 square meters.
Residents of St. Petersburg were reminded that citizens of the Russian Federation who occupy housing under social tenancy conditions have the right to privatization, i.e. free transfer of the state housing they occupy to the applicants on a voluntary basis. However, some types of housing are not subject to privatization. This includes housing in emergency condition, in dormitories, in houses of closed military towns, or service premises.
Earlier it became known that in St. Petersburg, large families with one adult child will be able to take advantage of housing benefits.
