Sinner, Alcaraz turns around on the doping case. Jannik’s fans target Wada on Wikipedia

The doping case involving Jannik Sinner continues to be discussed, Wada’s decision to appeal against the acquittal also surprises Alcaraz who sides with the blue

A rather decisive reverse. After the ambiguous words pronounced at the US Open, Carlos Alcaraz now he openly takes the side of Jannik Sinner regarding the doping affair concerning the Italian tennis player. After the victory in Beijing against Griekspoor, the Spaniard had words of comfort for his rival and friend but also of concern for the future of tennis.

Alcaraz: “I hope it ends as soon as possible”

That of Carlos Alcaraz It’s a pretty clear about-face. During the US Open, the Spanish tennis player was rather cautious in judging the doping affair involving Jannik Sinner, also triggering some anger from the Italian’s fans. Now, however, his words are supportive of Jannik: “These are delicate moments for him and for tennis in general. The ITIA said it had done nothing wrong and now the case is open again. I thought everything was closed: Jannik is innocent and they have verified that he did nothing wrong. The Wada news surprised me a bit. I don’t know what the next few months will be like but it’s certainly not a good sign for tennis”.

The Spaniard also applauded Sinner for the way he is behaving during this difficult journey: “IThe level of play he is expressing despite everything he has been through and is going through is crazyor. He manages to put everything aside when he steps onto the court and plays incredible tennis. People have probably also started looking at it differently than in the past. I hope he has people next to him who will help him get through the next few months. I hope that this thing can be put aside soon and that he can concentrate on the thing he loves: playing tennis”.

Sinner: the fans attack Wada

The Wada decision to appeal in the case involving Jannik Sinner has unleashed his fans who consider this choice senseless. Moreover, in the past the World Anti-Doping Agency had come under the radar of Italian sports fans following the affair involving Alex Schwazer, who for many was the victim of a profound injustice.

The protest from the South Tyrolean tennis player’s fans has arrived on Wikipedia with some users who decided to change the description of Wada on the Italian page with the agency becoming “a mafia association that decided to destroy Jannik Sinner’s career only for political and economic purposes. After having acquitted Chinese swimmers who were clearly doped and having slept on other equally obvious cases (and with the precedent of having ruined the career of another South Tyrolean) he decided to appeal for the assumption of the quota of 0.00000001 grams of substance”. A description which was then changed again by Wikipedia and brought back to the original.
