Riyadh – The first two players in the world rankings, Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz, confirmed their roles as favorites at the start of the exhibition tournament in Riyadh, where the record winning prize of six million dollars is up for grabs. Sinner outclassed Daniil Medvedev 6:0, 6:3, Alcaraz beat Holger Rune 6:4, 6:2.
World number one Sinner spent only 69 minutes on the court with Medvedev, number two Alcaraz stayed only a few minutes longer with Run. In the semifinals of the event, in which, according to the media, the tennis players received 1.5 million dollars for their participation, duels with Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal await them.
Both legends were seeded directly into the semi-finals. The winner of a record 24 Grand Slam trophies, Djokovic will face Sinner, Nadal, who will end his career after the season, will play in the Spanish duel against Alcaraz. He will appear on the court for the first time since the Olympic Games, after which he treated health problems.
