Sinner, Kyrgios responds to the accusations about Kalinskaya and lapses into vulgarity. The alliance with Djokovic is strengthened

The Australian tennis player responds to the words of world number 1 Andy Roddick and also descends into vulgarity, the social pact with the fans of the Serbian champion becomes increasingly solid

It’s now the Nick Kyrgios showevery day is enriched with a new chapter (almost always via social media) against Jannik Sinner and the tennis played despite the start of the new season and the Australian Open now upon us almost ends up being the backdrop. The last chapter of the saga arrives once again on X with the Australian not missing a single opportunity.

Roddick’s accusation

The latest intervention on the Kyrgios case was from the former world number 1, Lo American Andy Roddick. During his podcast the former player had no sweet words for the Australian: “A few weeks ago he said things about me that bordered on defamation. I think that at this point it is clear that everything he does is a function of wanting to appear, to get some likes. He has turned into an influencer in the world of tennis. But the thing I really don’t like is the hypocrisy in making absolute judgments on others but wanting people to think about the context of his comments; without forgetting that Kyrgios has been declared guilty of physically assaulting his girlfriend”.

Journalist Jon Wertheim also participated in the podcast and accused Kyrgios of launching these attacks against Sinner only out of jealousy of his relationship with Anna Kalinskaya, who was allegedly an ex of the Australian.

Kyrgios’ response

The words spoken during the podcast immediately reach Kyrgios who replies and even indulges in some vulgar expressions: “I can’t understand how all of this is now my fault. I don’t care about Sinner and who he sleeps with (but the expression is definitely more colourful, ed.). I am in a happy relationship. I just don’t like people who cheat the system. I would never have thought of Roddick as a sheep”.

The alliance with Djokovic’s fans

The temperature of the controversy risks rising even more in view of the Australian Open with many Djokovic fans rallying alongside Kyrgios in this battle against Jannik Sinner. The Serbian tennis player himself decided to play doubles in Brisbane with the Australian (without great results to be honest) and recently his words on the doping case involving the Italian number 1 have been decidedly clearer and more critical than to the past. For his part, Nick continues to find fertile ground among the Serbian’s fans in which to sow his battle of hatred.
