According to Digital Trends, the company’s internal tests show that Siri is outperformed by ChatGPT, the AI assistant developed by OpenAI.

Apple will use ChatGPT for tasks that Siri cannot perform
The current situation suggests that Apple is in a difficult position in the AI race.
“Some at Apple believe its generative AI technology — at least so far — is more than two years behind industry leaders,” according to a Bloomberg report.
To make up for this difference, Apple plans to use ChatGPT for tasks that Siri can’t perform. This includes improving natural language understanding, deeper harmonization with local applications and files, and assistance in understanding images and documents.
Although Apple previously announced the “Apple Intelligence” initiative, progress appears to be slower than anticipated. The AI features promised at the developer conference earlier this year have yet to fully materialize.
