Last Wednesday, the second season of “Killing Sisters” premiered on Apple TV+ – a series resulting from Apple’s cooperation with the Irish actress, screenwriter and director Sharon Horgan. A promotional video showing the behind-the-scenes of work on the new episodes was published on the official YouTube channel of the mentioned service.
While the first season of the series “Killer Sisters” was based on the Belgian series “Killer Clan” from 2012, the second season tells a completely new, original story, developing the threads of the previous episodes. The titular sisters, who in the first season were suspected of killing the husband of one of them, become involved in another criminal intrigue and have to face dark secrets from their family’s past. Sharon Horgan is not only the author of the series, but also plays one of the main roles in it. The other sisters are played by Anne-Marie Duff (including “Suffragette” and “John Lennon. The Boy from Nowhere”), Eva Birthistle (including “Brooklyn” and “Breakfast on Pluto”), Sarah Greene (including .including “Cop” and “Horror House”) and Eve Hewson (including “What’s in Her Eyes” and “Robin Hood: The Beginning”). In a new promotional video released by Apple, the lead actresses and Fiona Shaw, who joined the cast in season two, talk about working on the new episodes. It also shows some behind-the-scenes shots from the set.
The second season of the series “Killing Sisters” will consist of eight episodes, however Apple has only made the first two of them available on Apple TV+ so far. More will be added to the service’s catalog every week on Wednesday.
