Six years of updates and a slim design

Samsung has officially presented the Galaxy A16 5G and the LTE variant, the latest models in the A series and which come with significant improvements over the previous generation.

Both phones are available from November 18, 2024 and promise to attract users with a modernized design, a powerful camera system and an extensive software update policy.

Larger screen and improved design

One of the main novelties of the two devices is the 6.7-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED screen, a noticeable increase over the previous model, which had a 6.5-inch display.

Thanks to thinner bezels and a 90Hz refresh rate, users can enjoy a smoother visual experience whether they’re watching video content or using apps.

In terms of design, the phones have a slim profile of 7.9mm, compared to the Galaxy A15’s 8.4mm, while retaining IP54 certification for water and dust resistance.

This combination of small size and durability makes each of these new phones practical for everyday use.

Triple camera system for versatility

On the photo side, both models integrate a 50 MP main camera, capable of capturing detailed images even in low-light conditions.

The system is completed by a 5 MP ultra-wide camera, intended for landscape photos, and a 2 MP macro sensor for close-up details.

The 13 MP front camera is optimized for selfies and video calls.

Performance and extended autonomy

The Galaxy A16 5G is powered by an octa-core processor that enables smooth running of apps and games as well as seamless multitasking.

The phone is equipped with a 5,000 mAh battery and supports fast charging at 25W.

Security and updates

Another notable aspect of the new models is the extended update policy: they will receive six generations of operating system upgrades and six years of security updates.

It also benefits from Samsung Knox Vault technology, which protects personal data against unauthorized access and physical attacks.

Availability and price

The Galaxy A16 5G is already available on the official Samsung website at a price of 1,499 lei.
