A few weeks before the start of the ski jumping season, Aleksander Zniszczol announced some good news: the 30-year-old has become a father.
“It’s been a pretty intense time for me lately as we were expecting a son. He was born yesterday and our family has grown,” Zniszczol wrote in a post on the social media platform Instagram on Friday.
The Polish ski jumper revealed that he was “very happy that everything went as planned. Both the baby and the mother are doing well.”
“I was able to complete two good training sessions at the training camp in Zakopane and then on Wednesday I visited my wife,” said Zniszczol. Son Henio was born on Thursday. The winter athlete received numerous congratulations under his post.
New ski jumping season begins in Lillehammer
Zniszczol is currently preparing for the upcoming ski jumping season with the Polish national team.
The World Cup begins with competitions in Lillehammer, Norway (November 23rd and 24th). The ski jumping circus then stops off in Ruka, Finland (November 30th and December 1st). On December 7th and 8th, Zniszczol and Co. will play their home game at the Adam Malysz ski jump in Wisla.

The 30-year-old finished 19th in the overall World Cup last winter, making him the best athlete on his team. The Polish team is now hoping for a more successful season than last. The ski jumping nation will have its first chance in around two weeks in Norway.
