While the iPhone 16 has only just been announced, rumors are already buzzing about its successor. What can we expect from the different iPhone 17 models?
Good news for selfie lovers: all iPhone 17 models could get a major upgrade to the front camera. With 24 megapixels, your self-portraits could be twice as sharp as with current iPhones. That’s what well-known analysts Ming-Chi Kuo and Jeff Pu predict.
The larger iPhone 17 Pro Max will get a much-improved telephoto lens, says Ming-Chi Kuo. At 48 megapixels, it should capture four times as much detail as the current Pro models. Whether the smaller Pro model will get the same treatment is still up in the air.
More working memory
Apple could equip the iPhone 17 Pro Max with 12 GB of RAM. That says a well-known leaker on the Chinese platform Weibo. That is 50 percent more than in the current top model. This extra memory would make the phone faster when switching between apps and when using the new Apple Intelligence functions.
The eye-catching box at the top of the screen, the Dynamic Island, could also get smaller on the iPhone 17 Pro Max. This is due to changes in the system that recognizes your face to unlock the phone, according to analyst Jeff Pu.
iPhone 17 Air
Finally, there are rumors about a completely new model: the ‘iPhone 17 Air’. This would be very thin compared to other iPhones and get a screen of about 6.6 inches.
The slim iPhone 17 Air could replace the Plus model. No further details about the device are available yet, but the first concept videos are already there.
