Skoda Kodiaq Sportline Business is the Superb

The Skoda Superb and Skoda Kodiaq were presented more or less at the same time and are technically very similar. We already concluded that the starting prices are also very close to each other, although you now pay €1,000 more for the simplest Superb Combi than for an entry-level Kodiaq. Last week, the Superb was presented as Sportline Business and then you know it: the Skoda Kodiaq Sportline Business is also coming. The car is put together according to the same recipe and therefore has a black grille and sporty-looking light metal, just like the sporty Superb. In the sportiest version of the Kodiaq, the bumpers are also completely in body color and privacy glass is standard, as are the Maxtrix LED lights that also bring the continuous LED light bar to the rear. Striking: the LED light bar in the grille is optional and costs €190. On the inside, the Sportline Business distinguishes itself with a black headliner, sports seats and a three-spoke steering wheel. Here too, the car is nicely hung with options: the largest version of the touchscreen, automatic climate control with three zones, keyless entry, parking sensors all around and a reversing camera are standard, as is adaptive cruise control. Don’t expect real sportiness from the Kodiaq Sportline Business: unlike with the Superb, Skoda does not mention a modified chassis. 1.5 and PHEV equally expensive While we are still waiting for the prices of the Superb Sportline Business, we do know that the Skoda Kodiaq Sportline Business costs €52,490. For that money you get it with a choice of 150 hp 1.5 TSI petrol engine with mild hybrid support and a DSG automatic transmission, or as a plug-in hybrid with 204 hp and an electric range of 123 kilometers. That is striking, because with the other versions you pay €1,000 extra for the plug-in. The choice seems quickly made in the case of the Sportline Business, but there is a catch: a third row of seats is not available in the PHEV version. Anyone who wants a Kodiaq with seven seats is therefore also stuck with the 150 hp version with the Sportline. You pay €1,190 for row three, which brings the total for a seven-seater Skoda Kodiaq Sportline Business to at least €54,181.
