There are also two four-cylinder diesels, the 1.9 TDI PD with 77 kW (105 PS) and the 2.0 TDI PD with 103 kW (140 PS).
In addition to a new range of engines, it differs from the previous model in terms of modifications to the bodywork and for the increased legroom in the rear.
An excellent start
The new 2004 Octavia is 4,572 mm long, 1,769 mm wide and 1,462 mm high, while the trunk capacity it is 580 liters for the station wagon (1,630 liters with the rear seat bench folded down) and 560 liters for the sedan (1,430 liters with the rear seat bench folded down).

The RS is the Top
The new Octavia RS is presented as a world premiere at the IAA of Frankfurt in September 2005. It is equipped with a 2.0 TFSI with direct petrol injection producing 147 kW (200 hp) and a torque of 280 Nm in the rev range from 1,800 to 5,000 rpm. The fastest and most powerful production vehicle from the brand with the winged arrow accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.3 seconds and reaches a top speed of 240 km/h.
The metallic paint “Race Blue” is offered exclusively for the new RS models, later supplemented by the color “Sprint Yellow”.

New engines and accessories
In 2006 the range was completed with the “Scout” and in 2008 the restylingcharacterized by the new front, with high-impact headlights (among other things, the xenon headlights with cornering light function now make an important contribution to active safety), larger external rear-view mirrors and modified rear lights.
Among the new features there are also the 1.4 TSI with a power of 90 kW (122 HP) and the turbo petrol engines with a displacement of 1.4 and 1.8 liters which can now be combined with the Seven-speed DSG.
All trim levels (Classic, Ambiente and Elegance) are available with the latest fabric upholstery, while the steering wheel and center console have a new design.

Skoda Octavia II Facelift (2008)
At the Essen Motor Show, Skoda presents the new accessories for the Octavia RSupdated with a front apron, a rear diffuser and black alloy wheels. In the passenger compartment, sportiness is underlined by the exclusive leather-covered steering wheel, as are the gear lever and the doors. Recaro sports seats complete the atmosphere.
Electric traction arrives
In the 2010 the Octavia becomes Skoda’s first electric car. Il concept study Octavia Green E Line debuts at the Paris Motor Show in October and the first test fleet arrives in 2011.
The electric motor delivers 60 kW in continuous operation and 85 kW at maximum power, while the maximum torque of 270 Nm is already available at the start. The Octavia Green E Line accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in twelve seconds and the top speed is limited to 135 km/h. There battery is lithium ion and the autonomy is equal to 140 kilometers.

In August 2011, however, one Skoda Octavia RS special of a completely different caliber sets a world record on the American Bonneville track, becoming the fastest car in the world with an engine of up to two liters of displacement, with a speed of 365.43 km/h (227 mph).
Speaking of record: As many as two million second-generation Octavia models rolled off the production line.
