SKY express: Started routes to Yerevan in Armenia

The first flight of SKY express landed at Zvartnots International Airport of Yerevan and there the passengers as well as the representatives of the company were awaited by officials as well as the Greek ambassador to Armenia Mr. Christos Sofianopoulos.

The addition of Yerevan to SKY express’s international network marks the strengthening of the Greek airline’s presence in dynamic foreign markets and highlights the strategic importance of the region as an important hub between Europe and the Caucasus region.

The new direct route of SKY express takes place with the company’s state-of-the-art Airbus 320neo and Airbus 321neo aircraft, three times a week (Tuesday, Thursday, Sunday), thus strengthening the tourist, business and cultural ties between the two countries.

Christos Sofianopoulos, Ambassador of the Hellenic Republic to Armenia, said: “We warmly welcome the official launch of the air connection between Yerevan and Athens. We are confident that this will bring the two countries even closer and strengthen the ties between them. At the same time, it will enhance trade opportunities, tourism and relations between the two already very friendly nations. We hope that this will give an opportunity to more Greeks to visit Armenia as tourists and enjoy its beauty and growing tourism. Also, we can make Yerevan and Athens airports hubs for connecting flights to the rest of the world and other destinations: Europe, Asia and beyond.”
