Disgusting scenes took place during Sunday’s 1st B class match in the Ústí Region between Údlice and Duchcov. Chief referee Tomáš Saifert ended the match prematurely in the 5th minute of extra time at 3:3. The disciplinary commission will decide on his fate and punishments for the guilty. For insulting the referees, the main actors face several years’ sentences.

Everything that mattered began to happen after an hour of play, the wildness culminated in nine minutes of added time by attacking both assistants after the home team leveled at 3-3. According to the guests, this happened after an incorrect assessment of the throw-in in favor of the home team.

The list of reasons for awarding red cards to guests was described in detail by the referee in the minutes of the meeting. In three cases, it was an expulsion during the match, three reds fell during the interrupted game (including the expulsion of the coach). The reason was physical attacks and profanity. The insult and early termination of the match can be seen on the video from 4:40 p.m.:

The end of the match between Údlice and Duchcov.

Duchcov’s representative filed a protest after the match, and subsequently stated his objections in the minutes of the meeting. “We, FK Duchcov, file a protest due to referee misconduct in the match between Sokol Údlice and FK Duchcov played on 13/10/2024. From the beginning, the match was tending to the disadvantage of FK Duchcov, primarily from AR2 (assistant referee) and HR (chief referee),” the protest reads.

According to the guests, cars were whistled to their disadvantage, offsides and fouls. According to them, the referees did not give the home team a red card, they did not recognize a regular goal after an invented offside.

The point of view of the representatives of Údlice is understandably diametrically different. “In our opinion, the referees managed the match very well. Unfortunately, after the break, for incomprehensible reasons, the guests started commenting on each of their verdicts with profanity. “Hats off, they managed to score 3-2 even in the eighth, but they couldn’t handle our equalizer in added time and fell on the referees,” said the chairman of Sokol Údlice, Martin Lux, to sport.cz.

Before the organizers reached the referees, one of the local football players tried to calm the situation. “But he received a headshot and a punch from the Duchcovskis. Then the guests surrounded the referees and the linesmen were insulted,” said Lux.

But it did not end with insults on the lawn. When the referees were already sitting in their dressing room and the emotions seemed to have subsided, one of the visiting players kicked down the door to their dressing room. The main organizer and the main referee then called the police. “We do not understand the arrival of the police after the match and the treatment of both assistants at the hospital in Chomutov,” the guests noted in the minutes.

“You know that emotions will flare up, that happens sometimes if it belongs to football. I understand when an individual short-circuits, but I don’t understand when seven people short-circuit. After the match, I spoke with goalkeeper Duchcov, who also did not understand his teammates’ short-circuit,” Lux pointed out. According to him, this is not the first problem with the emotions of Duchcov’s team in recent seasons.
