New car registrations rose slightly in October this year compared to the same period last year.
According to new data provided by the Association of Auto Manufacturers in Romania (ACAROM), new car registrations in Romania increased in October this year by 1.4% compared to October 2023, reaching a volume of 11,552 units.
In the first ten months of 2024, new car registrations reached 127,061 units, registering an increase of 4.05% compared to the same period in 2023, i.e. 122,104 units.
Of these, 7,943 new registered cars have full electric propulsion, down 27% compared to 2023, and 48,322 units have hybrid propulsion. In a turnaround, hybrid car registrations have increased by 52% compared to October last year.
The volume of second-hand cars registered for the first time in Romania has increased
Regarding second-hand cars registered for the first time in Romania, their volume reached 34,449 units in October 2024, an increase of 18.33% compared to the same period last year.
In the first ten months of 2024, the registrations of second-hand cars registered for the first time in Romania reached the value of 270,548 units, down by 0.2% compared to what was recorded in the first 10 months of last year, when they were registered 271,104 second-hand cars imported from other countries.
Dacia continues to dominate the ranking of new car registrations. In the first 10 months of this year, 37,112 units sold by the Romanian manufacturer were registered in our country. Toyota ranks second, with 11,079 units, and the last step of the podium is occupied by the Korean manufacturer Hyundai, with 8,768 cars registered in Romania in the first 10 months of 2024.
The ranking is completed, in this order, by: Skoda, Renault, Volkswagen, Ford, Mercedes, BMW and Suzuki.
