The lake in Nezbudská Lúčka in the Žilina district was created by the gradual deepening of the quarry, which was naturally flooded with water, and today it reaches a considerable depth, approximately 12 meters. An unexploded shell from World War II was also discovered at its bottom, which leads to a ban on swimming and bathing in this lake. However, the lake is popular with fishermen who find peace and abundant fishing opportunities here. An interesting feature of the location is the natural asphalt, which slowly flows down the rock walls on hot days, creating an interesting visual effect of black to blackish-gray color. This place is not only an interesting natural phenomenon, but also a quiet haven for nature lovers. In the past, it was the only natural asphalt quarry in Europe.
Baranec is the third highest peak of the Western Tatras, with a height of 2,185 meters above sea level, known for its beautiful views of the High and Low Tatras. It is one of the popular tourist destinations because it offers more challenging ascents that are rewarded with panoramic scenery. The ascent to Baranec most often leads from the Žiarska valley, while the hike goes through varied terrain, from forests to open meadows. The peak is popular not only with tourists, but also with ski alpinists who enjoy its slopes in winter. Baranec is also known for its rich fauna, where marmots, chamois and other typical Tatra animals can be observed.
The Devínská Koliba lookout, also known as the Veľká luka lookout, is located on the Devínska Kobyla hill in Bratislava and is a popular tourist spot. It was created in 2020 and has a modern design with a distinctive spiral structure that rises to a height of 21 meters. The observatory offers visitors wonderful panoramic views of Bratislava, the Danube River and, in good weather, the Alps and the hills around Vienna. It is accessible by hiking trails leading from Devínská Nová Ves or from the Bratislava part of Dúbravka, which makes it accessible to a wide range of tourists. Thanks to its architecture and location, the lookout tower at Devínská Koliba is a sought-after destination for nature lovers, families and tourists looking for new views of the surrounding landscape.
