Cypriot football club APOEL Nicosia won over Macedonian Petrocub Hincesti 1:0 in the first match of the 2nd preliminary round of the Champions League.

The only goal of APOEL Nicosia in the first match of the 2nd qualifying round of the Champions League was scored by Marquinhos from the penalty spot.




The winner of this double match will meet in the third preliminary round with the more successful one from the fight between the Slovak champion Slovan Bratislava and the Slovenian Celje.

The victory of the Cypriot champions was decided by Brazilian winger Marquinhos from a penalty kick at the end of the first half.

The Latvian team FK Panevežys in the lineup with Róbert Mazáň lost smoothly 0:4 against the Polish team Jagiellonia Bialystok. The Slovak defender played the entire match.

Norwegian FK Bodö/Glimt confirmed the position of favorite when they won over Latvian FK Rigas FS 4:0. Rematches are scheduled for Wednesday, July 31.
