Starting in 2025, Slovenia became a full member of the European Space Agency (ESA), which it will officially mark today with two events.
Full membership in ESA Slovenia opens the door to many strategic and economic opportunities and strengthens its competitiveness in the global space sector. Today’s events will begin in Rimske Terme, where the summit between Slovenia and Esa will take place. Among other things, the latter will be marked by presentations of Esa’s achievements and plans for the future, while representatives of companies and institutes will summarize their views on the advantages of cooperation with the agency. According to the announcement of the Ministry of Economy, Tourism and Sport, the summit will focus on the new opportunities that membership brings to the Slovenian space sector.
In the afternoon, there will also be a press conference in Rimske Terme, in which the Minister of Economy will participate Matjaž HanPresident of the Council of Ese Renato Krpoun and General Manager of Esa Josef Aschbacher.

Slovenia has been cooperating with ESA, which is based in Paris, since 2009, when it signed an agreement for European participating countries. It strengthened its cooperation in 2016 by joining associate membership, and in 2020 with an association agreement. Last year, with the ratification of the agreement on full membership, it took the last step towards full integration into the organization.
