Are you fed up with big smartphones? Many specifications of the Oppo Find X8 Mini are available on the street. As the name suggests, it is a relatively small device. Nevertheless, the Mini gets very powerful hardware.
‘Oppo Find X8 Mini specifications leaked’
Oppo recently released the Find X8 Pro in the Netherlands. This is the brand’s first high-end smartphone in years to cross over to Europe. We already knew that Oppo is also working on a more compact version. Many specifications of this Oppo Find X8 Mini have now been leaked.
The device is not really small, however. According to the well-established tasty Digital Chat Station, the Mini has a 6.31-inch OLED screen. This makes it about the same size as the Google Pixel 9 Pro. While the Find X8 Pro’s display is slightly curved on four sides, the Mini’s is said to be completely flat.
The smartphone runs on the same MediaTek Dimensity 9400 processor. That is one of the fastest chips available at the moment, so you don’t compromise on performance with the Find X8 Mini. Despite the size, there is also a 5600 mAh battery on board. That’s quite large and only slightly smaller than the 5910 mAh of the Pro model. You can charge the battery both wired and wirelessly.
Furthermore, there is at least a 50 megapixel main camera on the back and a periscopic telephoto lens with the same resolution. You can probably also count on a wide-angle lens. For comparison: the Find X8 Pro has two telephoto lenses. There is no room for that on this smaller version.
The Oppo Find X8 Mini nevertheless has high-end specifications and materials. The frame of the smartphone is made of sturdy metal and both the front and back are equipped with glass. You use an optical fingerprint scanner to unlock the device.
Is the Mini coming to the Netherlands?
Oppo will launch the Find X8 Mini in the first half of 2025, probably at the same time as the absolute top model: the Find X8 Ultra. It is uncertain whether these smartphones will come to the Netherlands. The ‘normal’ Find X8 is not available in stores here either.
For the time being, we have to rely on the Oppo Find X8 Pro, which we wrote quite enthusiastically about in our review. Below you will find the conclusion.
There is a nice 8 above our review of the Oppo Find X8 Pro. That figure is based on the recommended retail price of 1149 euros. Immediately after the release, however, the price dropped to 949 euros at some online stores. If you can buy the device for that amount, you can safely give it an 8.5.
The Find X8 Pro is a very pleasant, high-end performer. The screen, design, hardware, cameras and battery are all good to very good. The biggest drawbacks are the placement of some buttons and the bloatware. As far as we are concerned, these are not absolute deal breakers, although the bloatware in particular is really annoying.
