Crystal Palace are looking to make a bid for Arsenal midfielder Emile Smith Rowe this summer.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Palace manager Oliver Glasner really wants to bring the 23-year-old midfielder to Selhurst Park.
Premier League rivals Fulham made an offer, but the Gunners swiftly rejected it. Now, Palace are ready to try their luck.
Earlier this week, The Times reported that Palace will need to pay a fee of around around £30 million to sign the attacking midfielder.
When he first emerged from the Arsenal academy, Smith Rowe was considered one of the country’s brightest talents.
He has dropped down the pecking order at Arsenal, and there are other top-class players who are performing exceptionally well in his position.
In the past two seasons, he has managed only 508 minutes of action in the Premier League, with injuries and loss of form hampering his natural progress.
Last season, Smith Rowe made only three starts in the Premier League and a move to Selhurst Park could work wonders for him as he enters the prime years of his career.
It looks like Arsenal would be happy to offload Smith Rowe, but only at the right price. Palace have money to spend after selling Michael Olise, and it up to the club to negotiate a deal for the exciting midfielder.
