Smoke-free summer / Travelers can relax in the IQOS Lounge before departure

MR Štefánika Airport in Bratislava and the Philip Morris company presented an interesting novelty at the Bratislava airport. In addition to attractive and exotic destinations, which the airport regularly includes in its flight schedules, they also bring innovations to passengers for even greater comfort and travel experience. This time they will delight adult travelers with the luxurious smoke-free destination IQOS Lounge directly
in the airport premises. It is intended exclusively for adult users of smokeless devices.

Waiting for departure will be even more comfortable for adult travelers who are also users of smoke-free facilities. In the modern premises of the IQOS Lounge, perfect conditions have been created for them to relax before the trip or to plan new experiences that await them during the trip. At the same time, they are constantly informed about current departures, because the space also includes an information board with the flight schedule. “I am looking forward to the opening of the IQOS Lounge, which will make passengers more pleasant and comfortable before departure. The airport company’s effort is to constantly bring more comfort and a choice of services at MR Štefánik Airport,” stated on this occasion the chairman of the board and the general director Ing. Dušan Novota.

One of the few in the world

Smoke-free IQOS Lounges are currently only available at airports in Vilnius, Kaunas in Lithuania, Riga in Latvia or Warsaw in Poland. Bratislava Airport is thus the fifth airport in a row where adult users of smoke-free facilities can rest and relax before traveling. The IQOS Lounge is located upstairs in the departure hall of the airport and is available 24/7 for adult passengers. It is equipped with comfortable designer furniture, armchairs, charging stations for IQOS devices or special boxes for used refills. “I am happy that we are already part of this year’s summer flight season and I really appreciate the cooperation with MR Štefánika Airport in Bratislava. Smoke-free devices are gaining more and more popularity among adult users of tobacco and nicotine products, which is why it is necessary to adapt the offered services and reflect innovations in them. The opening of the IQOS Lounge at the Bratislava airport is one of the ways we will bring our customers a better user experience. At the same time, I believe that the modern spaces of the lounge and user comfort can also be motivating for adult smokers of classic cigarettes who are considering switching to a less risky smokeless alternative,” stated Martin the BearCEO of Philip Morris Slovakia.

A new dimension of smokeless innovations

Philip Morris has been investing in research and development of smoke-free solutions for a long time. They produce a significantly smaller amount of harmful substances compared to classic cigarettes. Smokeless devices do not produce smoke because they do not burn tobacco. Adult smokers can also forget about the unattractive smell of cigarettes. The breakthrough technology of induction heating, which does not burn the tobacco, but heats it from the inside, is typical of IQOS ILUMA devices. Thanks to this, an aerosol is created, and not harmful cigarette smoke, and tar is not created – the residue of smoke after burning a cigarette, which is a mixture of chemical compounds containing carcinogenic and toxic substances. Smokeless devices are not without risk. They deliver nicotine, which is addictive, and are intended exclusively for adults who would otherwise continue to smoke or use other nicotine products. The IQOS Lounge at the MR Štefánika Airport was included among other IQOS FRIENDLY zones, which today users of smoke-free devices can already find in selected gastro establishments, HOPIN IQOS FRIENDLY taxis or even in selected rooms of the Carlton Hotel.
