Dacia no longer produces utility models, but the manufacturer from Mioveni could consider this concept created by a Romanian. The Dacia Vaner could be a successor to the Estafette of the 1970s.
Between 1975 and 1978, 642 examples of the Dacia D6 Estafette utility vehicle were manufactured, which, like the Dacia 1100 or 1300, was another vehicle built under license from Renault. First launched in 1959, the Renault Estafette was a light, economical utility vehicle only good for urban transport.
Unfortunately, this model was produced in a small number of copies, but the Estafette could receive a successor if Dacia looks towards the light utility segment. In addition, Renault recently presented the Estafette concept, which previews a new range of light commercial vehicles.
Who knows, maybe an interesting coincidence will result from all these elements, and Dacia will have its own version of the small van.
A Romanian imagined what the utility vehicle from Dacia could look like. Meet Vaner
Andrei Dilă published a series of renderings on page all from ArtStationwhere he has several projects. Recently, he published several photos of the Dacia Vaner, his vision of a light utility vehicle that respects Dacia’s new design ideology.
Andrei shows us the van in various colors and from different angles. Moreover, we can see in detail the two sliding doors on the sides, but also the double doors in the back. We can also notice the generous cargo area, which is covered with plastic material to withstand years of cargo transportation.
Andrei managed to integrate very well the new design language of Dacia in his project. The Y-shaped optical blocks, the new grille that includes the Dacia Link logo, but also the crossover stature of the van would fit right into the current or even future range of the Romanian manufacturer.
