German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said that Berlin will not supply Kiev with missiles capable of reaching Moscow.

– Although many are pressuring me, I will not deliver cruise missiles that can reach Moscow. I assure you that I will not change my position – he said in a conversation with the citizens of Niedergersdorf in the federal state of Brandenburg.

Soltz repeated that it is necessary to find a way to peacefully resolve the Ukrainian conflict.

– Now is the time to study what possibilities exist there – he added.

During a recent conversation with citizens in the city of Prenzlau, also in the federal state of Brandenburg, the chancellor confirmed that Germany does not intend to supply Kiev with long-range Taurus cruise missiles, as this would entail a “serious risk of escalation”.

– I said ‘no’ to that – the chancellor pointed out, although he cannot avoid pressure and discussions on this topic, even within his ruling coalition.

The head of the government noted that in order to ensure the control of the use of “Taurus” missiles, it would be necessary to send German soldiers to Ukraine, but, according to him, this is ruled out.

German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius believes that sending long-range missiles to Kiev, including the German “Taurus” missiles, will not be of decisive importance for the Ukrainian conflict, and Germany does not intend to cross this border.
