Some players are cemented in the lineup, Weiss says. Slovan’s coach revealed who led the offensive: He was excellent – Fortuna liga – Football

The footballers of Slovan Bratislava are having a successful start to the new season. After progressing to the 3rd preliminary round of the Champions League, “Belasí” managed to score fully in both opening rounds of the domestic competition.

On Saturday, the reigning champion dealt with Podbrezová on the Tehelno polí, although the 1:0 result might be frowned upon by some fans. Especially after the 5-0 goal score against Celje.

Slovan coach Vladimír Weiss senior. he attributed this to several lineup changes.

“I told the players at halftime that they had to be calm. I believed that there would come a moment in the match after which we would decide.

Robo Mak is not a typical central striker, Barsejjan is gradually gaining minutes after injury. The offensive was led by Marko Tolič, who was excellent,” assessed Weiss Sr. at the press conference after the match with Podbrezová.

He is gradually starting to think about the line-up that will take part in Wednesday’s match of the preliminary round of the Champions League against APOEL Nicosia.

“We have several options in attack, someone will have to stay on the bench. Július Szöke deserves to play, I will see how the boys will appear on Monday and Tuesday at training. He can play only 11 players, he has to be patient,” Weiss senior thinks.

According to him, there must be pressure on every position so that the players do not feel threatened.

“Boys who joined us later in training, like Mustafič or Medvedev, compete with those who are as if cemented in the lineup.

I am referring to the eleven players, which is currently the strongest in our country and where I make a maximum of 1-2 changes. However, this does not mean that it will be like this for the whole season,” states the coach of Slovan.

He was also satisfied with the performance of goalkeeper Martin Trnovský, who got a chance in goal instead of Dominik Takáč.
