You will of course know that very recently OnePlus showed its latest premium phone in China with all formality, the OnePlus 13, while it is also said to be working on the Ace 5 and Ace 5 Pro for the Chinese market. Next year, the Chinese manufacturer is expected to unveil the OnePlus Open 2 for the global market. Most likely, the Open 2 will be a facelifted version of the upcoming Find N5, which is expected to feature the chipset Snapdragon 8 Elite. A new development reveals that the company could be working on a compact phone with high-end specs!
According to a report by tipster Digital Chat Station, OnePlus will announce a compact premium phone in the second quarter of 2025. As of now, there is no confirmation about the name of the device. So, it is not clear whether it will be part of the numbered series or the Ace series.
It is known that OnePlus’ sister brand Oppo is also working on a compact phone called the Find X8 Mini.
If Oppo launches the Find X8 Mini in China, OnePlus might not launch its flagship compact in the same market as it might negatively affect the sales of the X8 Mini. Instead, the OnePlus compact phone may have different specifications and be launched as an Ace series product in China. Globally, it may launch as a Nord-branded phone.
Since these are all just speculations, it’s best to wait for further reports to know what to expect from OnePlus’ compact premium phone.
