A dear reader of ours recently drew our attention to a surprising fact: he noticed that the Skoda emblem is missing from the place where it has always appeared, in the middle of the steering wheel. We also looked into it a bit.
“I’m a member of many skodas forums, and a few days ago someone posted in one of them. It was written there that from the 48th week – which is due in two weeks – all Skodas will be produced with steering wheels without a logo. On the Hungarian side, the pictures have not yet been replaced when selecting the interior, but on the German side they have, and the Fabia is like that, and all models. Not just electric cars. No logo on the steering wheel. From now on, the logo will be completely removed. It will also stop at the beginning of the car, but I don’t know when” – explains our reader.
Here is the Fabia order form on the German side:
After our reader’s letter, we checked the manufacturer’s Hungarian site, and it seems that they have already changed the pictures – the Skoda logo on the steering wheel is no longer there, not even in the case of the Fábia.
And my colleague Patrik Fehér supplemented the matter with another photo: that At Elroq’s presentation the logo was also missing from the end of the umbrella, although it was on all Skoda umbrellas until now. True, it only appeared to him after the fact. However, the Elroq is the first model that completely banished the “winged arrow” emblems. It seems that this design will be followed by other Skodas as well.
We are anxiously waiting for the official announcement about the matter here at home, in any case, the events are very interesting. By the way, Skoda registered the well-known logo for the first time 101 years ago at the Pilsen trademark office. It was originally protected with five feathers, but since it could not be done in a small size, it was finally used with three feathers in 1925. An Indian headdress inspired the designers.
