Sony Honda Mobility Inc. (SHM) showed a pre-production example of the electric sedan of the new brand Afeela at the CES show in Las Vegas last year, and now the full production model Afeela 1 has arrived.
As stated, Afeela expresses their vision of creating a new relationship between people and mobility, while the design of this vehicle aims to create new standards of value for mobility.
The Afeela 1 is planned for production in the US at Honda’s Ohio plant. Official sales in California begin this year at a price of $89,999 (€86,865), but deliveries are expected in mid-2026.
In a statement, SHM also says this: “Since we have reached a turning point where the elements of the car are moving from power and performance to software, networks and user experience, we have re-examined the individuality and form of the vehicle design, and by further refining it, we wanted to emphasize the essential values and we sublimate them into a clean and strong design.”
The interior is based on a gentle rounded tone, enveloping the occupants in a soft cocoon. Not only is the atmosphere comfortable, but it is designed to be as simple as possible, minimizing distracting decorations and colors. The goal is functionality that people want.
There is still a large digital display for the driver, now behind the modified steering wheel and surrounded by a huge screen that stretches across the rest of the dashboard. All with voice commands and artificial intelligence.
Other features include Level 2+ automated driving as well as a unique noise cancellation system that combines the expertise of Honda and Sony.
The length of the vehicle is 4915 mm, width 1900 mm, height 1460 mm, and wheelbase 3000 mm.
Afeela 1 is equipped with two electric motors that together have 482 hp, while the 91 kWh battery is enough for a range of up to 482 km.
