Sony held a presentation where it introduced the PlayStation 5 Pro.
The console received a new graphics processor, which accelerates game rendering by 45%.
PlayStation 5 Pro supports advanced ray tracing. It enables more dynamic reflection and refraction of light. This allows rays to be cast two and sometimes three times faster than on PlayStation 5.
The final major change is AI-powered upscaling with PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution, which automatically adds frames to games to improve the smoothness of the image.
In addition, the PlayStation 5 Pro received support for Wi-Fi 7 and 8K resolution.
The PlayStation 5 Pro has a similar design to the PlayStation 5. The most noticeable difference is the three stripes on the sides. The consoles are the same height and width. Sony will release interchangeable covers in the future.
PlayStation 5 Pro is compatible with all PS5 accessories, including the disc drive.
The PlayStation 5 Pro goes on pre-order on September 26 and will ship on November 7. The console will cost $699. This is the version with a 2TB SSD, one DualSense controller, and Astro’s Playroom.
