Sony wants to compete with Tesla, it will start producing its electric car

  • Sony and Honda will jointly produce the Afeela electric car
  • They showed the prototype 2 years ago
  • Their goal is to produce direct competition for Tesla

Tesla has literally become synonymous with electric cars. But he is certainly not their only producer. Electric mobility is booming both with classic car companies, and completely new companies are also starting to create their own electric car models. And she is one of them Sony. The renowned electronics manufacturer has teamed up with Dog and together they decided to step into the future of motoring.

About 2 years ago, they presented to the world their electric car prototype called Aphela. At the same time, they made no secret of the fact that they wanted to compete with it, including the world’s most famous manufacturers Tesla Elon Musk. Now they have finally announced that the car will go into production – and the first interested parties can already have it book.

At the same time, Afeela should not see the light of day until the middle of the year 2026. But it will definitely not be an electric car for the poor. The price tag was set at $89,900 (approx 2.6 million crowns). Cars with better equipment will cost from 102,900 dollars (about 3 million crowns).

Car with subscription

Sony is trying to make its future electric car stand out from the competition and attract customers. In addition to various modern functions, it will also offer a subscription. If the driver needs various above-standard functions, he will have to pay for them separately. But new customers get a bonus in the form of 3-year subscription for free.

We have yet to find out what the new electric car will offer and what it intends to impress the world with. In any case, it is certain that after the recent introduction of the Xiaomi electric car, it is another competition for established companies.
