A publication from last month showed that the Sony may phase out the Xperia V series, leaving the Xperia 1 as the only high-end smartphone series from the Japanese manufacturer.
A new case list for what appears to be the Xperia 5 VI, however, it suggests the opposite.
A German online retailer has launched a Spigen Rugged Armor case for the Xperia 5 VI. The accompanying images show the case on the device with some subtle differences compared to the same case on last year’s Xperia 5 V.
One notable difference is that the Xperia 5 VI’s LED flash located between the cameras is larger than on the outgoing Xperia 5 V. The renders also show a headphone jack at the top, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and a switch volume button on the right without shutter button. Screen sizes and aspect ratios seem to match.
Last year’s Xperia 5V was released in September, which leaves plenty of time for Sony to start teasing the upcoming Xperia 5 VI.
