It is now certain that Tesla will also participate as an exhibitor at one of the most prestigious commercial vehicle exhibitions, the IAA in Hanover. The show – which awaits visitors this year between September 17 and 22 – features new products from major European manufacturers such as MAN Truck&Bus, Mercedes-Benz, or Scania. However, these brands are usually represented at all IAA commercial vehicle shows.

Tesla can now kick the ball in this field for the first time, a Semi with its semi-trailer truck named after the company, the serial production of which could only start in 2022 with a significant delay. Interestingly, most of the foreign exhibitors will be not American but Chinese manufacturers. They are followed by the Turks and the Italians.

Soon anyone will be able to see Tesla's truck 1

According to some speculations, Tesla will introduce the Semi tractor unit intended for the European market. All of this would be very practical, since a Chinese competitor, Windrose, has just announced the European production of an electric tractor unit similar to the Semi. The Tesla Semi was unveiled in 2017 and several larger companies initially placed reservations for it.

Serial production was originally supposed to begin in 2019, but deliveries to PepsiCo could only begin three years later. Multi ordered at least 125 of them, but UPS also placed an order for 100 electric Tesla trucks.

Nevertheless, Tesla calculates that in 2026, 50,000 units can be produced in the Nevada factory. This seems like a surreal idea at the moment. Even if, according to the data communicated by the manufacturer, the Semi can travel 482-800 kilometers on a single charge. The fact that its batteries can be charged to 70 percent in just 30 minutes seems promising data from Tesla. According to the American company, using Semi can save at least $200,000 over three years.
