Google is working on a new option that could make life easier for Wallet app users.
If you already use Gmail or Google Photos, you’ve probably heard of Google Wallet. But did you know you can do a lot more with it than save credit cards?
What the app offers
Currently, Wallet can store a lot of things that you usually keep in a physical wallet: your wallet, loyalty cards, subway tickets, theater or cinema tickets.
Recently, the American company also added an option called Everything else (Altele, in Romanian) that allows you to import practically any text-based card.
Sounds good, right? But maybe you thought it was too much hassle to manually add all the cards to the app. Well, Google might have a solution for that too.
Adding cards automatically
In the latest version of the Wallet app, identified as 24.35.672648184, hints of a new feature were found that would allow adding multiple cards in one go.
The app will reportedly be able to scan users’ phone photos to find those images of cards and tickets that are compatible with it.
Regarding privacy, you will need to give explicit consent before the app can access your photos.
An easier future for users
Although the feature is not available yet, it could be a quick way to transfer everything from your physical wallet to your digital wallet and thus save precious time.
Other news about Google Wallet
In addition, the app becomes useful in other ways as well. For example, in California, people can now store their driver’s license and report card digitally. The company has expanded compatibility with over 200 US banks.
Digital wallets are becoming more and more popular day by day. The next time you’re thinking about organizing your cards and tickets, remember that we may soon have a simple option to do so with Google Wallet.
It remains to be seen when this new and very useful feature will be released.
