Soon you will be able to play Half-Life 2 with ray tracing

In connection with Half-Life 2 turning 20 years old presents Nvidia and the Half-Life lovers Orbifold Studios a new version of the iconic game: Half-Life 2 RTX.

The game offers modern graphics with support for ray tracing, path tracing and Nvidia’s upscaling technology DLSS. Half-Life 2 RTX is not a mod, but a standalone game with separate page on Steam. The system requirements for the game have not yet been announced.

At the same time, Nvidia will raffle off an RTX 4080 Super in Half-Life theme, adorned with Gordon Freeman and the iconic Lambda symbol.

Despite Half-Life 2 celebrating its 20th anniversary on November 16, there is no release date for the RTX version. It seems that Nvidia and Orbifold want to take their time to polish the gaming experience before launch.
