Soul and Gospel Family Reunion Saturday with The Staples Jr. singers

He PAS Festival (Pont a les Arts Sonores) brings the concert of The Staples Jr. on Saturday, July 13, at 10:30 p.m. singers Spiritual and enchanting music, a true family reunion of soul and gospel”made in” Mississippi.

In 1975, The Staples Jr. Singers released their first and only album, When Do We Get Paid. In 2022, the New York label Luaka Bop, which has also released records by William Onyeabor, Floating Points and Alice Coltrane, reissued this old treasure, the original copy of which is more than coveted by collectors.

More than four decades and three generations later, the original members still touring The Staples Jr. Singers come together to present the most acclaimed repertoire of this wonderful music.

The Staples Jr. Singers are Annie Caldwell on vocals, Edward Brown on vocals, Willie Caldwell Sr. on guitar, Willie Caldwell Jr. on bass, Abel Caldwell on drums, RC Brown on vocals and guitar, and Troy Brown on vocals.
