8 people have been rescued alive in the incident of speedboat sinking in Teknaf-Saint Martin waterway of Cox’s Bazar. At this time, a child is missing in the sea.

On Monday (October 14) at around 11 o’clock, the speedboat sank in Golarchar area of ​​Nafnadi. The missing child is Noor Alisha (8), daughter of Saddam Hossain, a resident of East Para of Saint Martin Union of the upazila.

Teknaf Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) Md. Adnan Chowdhury confirmed the matter.

According to locals, UNO Adnan Chowdhury said that a speedboat sank in Golarchar area near Shah Parirdwip on Teknaf-Saint Martin waterway around 11 o’clock on Monday.

Later, rescue operations were carried out with speedboats. But the speedboat sank due to the wave. He also said that 8 passengers including the driver of the speedboat were rescued alive in this incident. A child is missing. Locals including the Coast Guard are conducting operations to rescue the missing child.
