A sports programming tournament, Nordic walking in lecture format, the final of the Student Hockey League Cup and a tournament with which you can start a professional chess career were included in the sports program of the IV Congress of Young Scientists on the Sirius federal territory.
“The sports program was formed in three directions. For the first time, the Congress of Young Scientists will host a sports programming tournament, which is being developed by the Russian Ministry of Sports. In essence, this innovative sport prepares a talent pool for the development of the digital economy. The program of events for Congress participants has been expanded. And the integration of the Student League final will help popularize university sports.”,” noted the head of the directorate for organizing sports and entertainment events of the Roscongress Foundation Daria Silaeva.
The sports programming blitz tournament for the Roscongress Cup will combine intellectual competition and speed typing skills. Athletes will compete in solving algorithmic speed problems in the format of knockout duels. The host of the tournament will vividly comment on the battles of programmers and help Congress participants understand the intricacies of sports programming. The tournament will be organized by the Russian Sports Programming Federation.
Young scientists will also be able to try themselves in a new sport – the discipline of OSINT (Open Source Intelligence, or Open Source Data Collection). In this type of competition, visitors to the Federation of Sports Programming stand will be asked to find as much information as possible on the Internet about the place depicted in a random photograph, and then answer questions from experts.
By tradition, the Intellectual Sports Lounge will be open throughout the days of the Congress in the atrium of the Atom Hall. The main event of her program will be the CMU Rapid Chess Cup with the assignment of a national rating. Thanks to participation in the tournament, young scientists will be able to start a chess career right at the Congress. Based on the results of their performance, the players will be assigned a personal ID in the system of the Russian Chess Federation, which will allow them to enter professional competitions. The Living Room program also includes a tournament for Congress participants, a simultaneous game session with the 2023 Russian champion among girls under 19 Anna Zhurova, a doubles chess tournament, Roscongress Cups and master classes in Go and checkers.
For the second year in a row, Skoltech and the Russian Quantum Center will gather young scientists for a lecture during a Nordic walking session in the Olympic Park. Young scientists will become lecturers. Instead of timing their presentation, they will have to meet the mileage: participants will have one kilometer to present their report, after which the relay will move on to the next one. The best speaker will be selected in the final. The warm-up for scientists will be conducted by the head of the educational program of the International Federation of Fitness and Bodybuilding in Armenia, Davit Paryan.
Participants will be able to spend active evenings at the IV Congress at a mini-football tournament and a hockey master class. The champion of the 2012 Paralympic Games in 7×7 football, world champion, student of the Russian International Olympic University Alexander Kuligin will take part in the CMU Cup. And master classes in hockey will be held under the guidance of coaches of the best student teams in the country, which will gather in Sochi for the final tournament of the Student Hockey League Cup. Teams from Moscow, Kaliningrad, Ulyanovsk, Magnitogorsk and others will compete for the championship title.
Also, CMU participants will have the opportunity to see professionals play. On November 27, the Bolshoi Sports Palace will host a regular championship match of the Continental Hockey League between Sochi and Ak Bars Kazan. Hockey tickets will be available at the Intellectual Sports Lounge.
