Opera, which offers several different browsers for computers and mobile devices, has started cooperation with Spotify, still the number one on the music streaming market. The goal of the collaboration is to make it easier for users to listen to music, podcasts and audiobooks while browsing the Internet. As part of this cooperation, Spotify becomes the default music service in the Opera One player.
Spotify in Opera – what’s new?
Opera’s research shows that most Internet users listen to music on their phones while working at their computers. This practice is declared by as many as 66% of interviewed Internet users, while as many as 89% of respondents explain it as more convenient to control music on the phone instead of on the computer. Spotify’s integration with Opera One is apparently going to change that. The music player is located in the browser sidebar and can be moved freely around the screen. The music automatically mutes during a teleconference, which is a very practical solution.

If you have used Opera so far, you know how many possibilities the sidebar has, allowing, among others: switch between contexts, instant messengers and music players. Various streaming services are generally supported, but Opera’s cooperation with Spotify also brings new products and promotions.
Spotify features in Opera:

- Moving the player: Position the player anywhere on the screen
- Auto mute: Music mutes during a conference call
- Sidebar Integration: Quickly access Spotify from the Opera sidebar
