A The Verge according to his report, the user uploading pornographic content has been sharing erotic audio on Spotify for years, but has recently taken it to a new level and started publishing explicit videos. In addition, another account started sharing pornographic videos with all kinds of nonsensical titles from mid-November.

The representative of Spotify, Laura Batey, confirmed to the newspaper in an e-mail that the contents in question were removed because they violated the platform’s guidelines, but it is not yet clear how these materials could be uploaded to the service provider’s interface. The most likely explanation is that explicit content may have leaked through unmoderated podcast uploads.

The situation is further complicated by the fact that it is extremely difficult to report such content on Spotify. Apparently, the app lacks a button for this – instead, users have to copy the URL of the problematic content and then a through a website they must submit a violation report.
