Spurs lose spectacle in Istanbul

Chelsea FC warmed up for the upcoming duel with 1. FC Heidenheim in the Conference League with a record win. The Blues outclassed the Armenian runner-up FC Noah 8-0 (6-0) and easily defended their lead in the table.

It was the biggest victory in the young history of the competition. Meanwhile, the struggling Manchester United achieved their first win of the Europa League season with a much more difficult 2-0 (0-0) against PAOK Saloniki.

Chelsea also made things clear early on against overwhelmed guests with some unfamiliar faces in the starting line-up. Tosin Adarabioyo (12th) opened the scoring, within six minutes Marc Guiu (13th) and Axel Disasi (18th) made it 3-0.

Joao Felix (21st/41st), Mychajlo Mudryk (39th) and former Leipzig player Christopher Nkunku (69th/76th, penalty) increased the result even further. On November 28th, Chelsea will travel to 1. FC Heidenheim in the Ostalb.

Thanks to the success under interim coach Ruud van Nistelrooy, Manchester United now has six points after three draws at the start, giving the designated new coach Ruben Amorim a slightly better starting position. After an even first half with few chances, Manchester’s Amad (50th/77th) had the fans at Old Trafford cheering twice.

Mats Hummels is again just a benchwarmer at Rome

Mats Hummels sat on the bench again for the entire game in AS Roma’s 1-1 (0-0) draw at Union St. Gilloise in Belgium. Timo Werner was also not used; the former national striker was not even in the squad for Tottenham Hotspur’s 2:3 (1:3) defeat at Galatasaray Istanbul.

U21 national striker Youssoufa Moukoko, who was playing for OGC Nice against Twente Enschede, was substituted at half-time when the score was 0-1. In the absence of the former Dortmund player, his team scored a point after being 2-0 down thanks to a late goal to make it 2-2.

National player Robin Gosens suffered his first defeat in the Conference League with AC Florence in a 1:2 (0:2) draw at APOEL Nicosia in Cyprus. With Gosens coming on as a substitute in the 69th minute, Florence shortened the deficit once again after being 2-0 down at half-time through Jonathanikon (74th), but the turnaround failed to materialize.
