A court in St. Petersburg has sentenced a man who stole six mobile phones from an online order pick-up point.
As reported by the press service of the Northern capital prosecutor’s office, the St. Petersburg resident was found guilty under paragraph “c” of Part 2 of Article 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (theft committed with causing significant damage).
It all happened in May 2024 at an online order pick-up point on Blagovatnaya Street. According to investigators, the accused stole six devices and handed the stolen items over to a pawnshop.
The court sentenced the St. Petersburg resident to three years of imprisonment in a general regime penal colony.
Earlier it was reported that in St. Petersburg a man would be tried for stealing valuables worth more than 1 billion rubles from bank safe deposit boxes.
