St. Petersburg residents were told about the healing properties of elderberry

This unique plant can bring many benefits to the body in the fall.

Russians were urged to include elderberries in their diet in October. Specialists from the St. Petersburg Rospotrebnadzor spoke about the many beneficial properties of the plant.

Experts first of all reminded that only black berries are considered edible. “Adding elderberries to your diet in October can significantly improve your health and overall well-being,” the department’s St. Petersburg office said in a statement.

According to experts, elderberry, due to its antioxidant content, helps protect the body from free radicals, reduces the risk of developing chronic diseases and improves the overall health of the body.

During the cold season, elderberry, rich in vitamin C, will strengthen the body’s defenses. The berries also contain substances that improve digestion and maintain healthy intestinal microflora, Rospotrebnadzor added.

Previously, St. Petersburg residents were told how to brew tea correctly, what oil should not be used for frying, and who should not eat onions.
