Starlinki over Poland again. The space train will fly by on November 8

The popular “space train”, operated by Elon Musk’s SpaceX company, has been providing many experiences to lovers of astrophotography or sky observation since May 2019. It is currently in low Earth orbit 6,426 Starlink satellites55 of which do not work, and the rest provide satellite Internet to 105 countries around the world.

Although today’s flight will be a bit more difficult to see, the views in the sky can turn into an extraordinary spectacle again for less than fifteen minutes, if the weather allows it.

Initial forecasts suggest that today’s flyby of the G10-13 series Starlink satellites will not be as easy to observe as some of the past weeks. This is primarily due to the fact that eight days have passed since they started, individually the satellites have managed to move away from each otherthanks to which the characteristic effect of the mentioned “space train” will no longer be so clearly visible.

Unfortunately the cloud forecast is also not particularly optimisticthe observation of yesterday’s flight was made very difficult by the clouds, and today the situation seems to be not much better. However, the flight will theoretically be visible for about 13 minutes, so if cloud cover allows, we will have enough time to find Starlinks in the sky.

The flight of Starlink satellites will begin November 8 at 5:49 p.m above the western horizon. The next satellites will move across the sky for another 13 minutes, and the last one will disappear in the Earth’s shadow in the center of the sky at 18:02.

The large separation between individual satellites means that the possibility of observation will depend on appropriate weather conditions. If it is cloudy, there will be no visibility of the flight, just like in the previous days, when most of our country was covered with clouds. Therefore, if the weather is good and the sky is clear of clouds, it will definitely be worth looking up today at 5:49 p.m.
