Do you want to play music automatically when you put on AirPods, Beats or any type of Bluetooth headphones? We show you how to configure a special shortcut
It is appreciated that there is an app like Shortcuts on the iPhone, at iPadizate we have created different content to get the most out of it. On this occasion we bring you a great tip on how to create an automation in which the iPhone starts music when you put on your AirPods, Beats, or other available headphones. Very useful for those users who exercise and They don’t want to waste time looking for what to playit can also work for you to start the day working, etc.
Automation to play music automatically when you put on headphones
- Open the Shortcuts app on your iPhone
- Create a new automation by tapping on the corresponding tab and then on the Plus sign button or create a new one if you don’t have any active
- Select Bluetooth
- Then Tap on the Device section, select headphones correct and press Done
- The “You are connected” option must be selected
- Select Run immediately and then tap Next
- In the next window select the Play music shortcut
- Now select the text Music and choose Library to select the artist, album or a playlist. Confirm the selection with the Plus sign button
- If you tap the down arrow button you can configure whether you want random play or activate repeat
- Click on Done to finish creating the automation.
Now is the time to put this automation to the test. Take the headphones out of their case and put them in your ears. Has it worked? It seems like an act of magic but it will really save you the tedious moment of looking for what to play.
An extra automation to pause playback
There is a detail of this automation that you can realize when you want to stop listening to music. Normally headphones detect when they are no longer in our earsat least AirPods, Beats and third-party manufacturers have this function. The problem is that the music will continue to play through the iPhone speakers on other types of headphones or speakers that do not have the function available. Need to create another automation for playback to end.
- Open the main Shortcuts menu and tap the Plus button
- Find the Play/Pause shortcut and select it
- Click on the Play/Pause text and change it to Pauserename the shortcut as you wish to have it located. Click on Done to complete this step
- Select the Automation tab and create a new one
- Again choose Bluetooth and headphones that you configured in the first automation
- Uncheck the “You are connected” option and choose the “You are offline” option. Set it to run immediately and click Next
- Now choose the shortcut created in step 3
- When you take off the headphones, the music should pause permanently even on the iPhone.
I no longer want automation, how do I remove it?
It is not necessary to remove it completely since you can configure it to not run it in the future.
- Open Shortcuts and select Automation
- Select automation to set it to “Do not start”
- If you fall delete it, swipe left and confirms the movement.
It is an interesting function for users who cannot live without the music that is part of our daily lives. It helps save time and get straight to the point. Did you like it?
