The State Revenue Service of Latvia has warned about fake profiles that have appeared on the TikTok platform.
SRS reports that it is not represented on the TikTok platform and does not have an official account on this social network. All videos and publications distributed on behalf of fake SRS profiles? are fraudulent and have nothing to do with the institution.
The SRS emphasized that the service’s ability to influence the dissemination of such records or close a fake account is very limited. It should be remembered that the TikTok platform is often used by misinformers who, using social media algorithms, spread misleading information in order to discredit government and create confusion in the public.
The SRS urged to monitor only official communication channels: on the website www.vid.gov.lv and on social networks: Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X, YouTube.
