EPDK stated, “The average impact of the 38 percent increase in gas purchase prices on housing prices across Turkey is at the level of 24.4 percent.”
The Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK) reported that the 38 percent price increase in natural gas purchase prices for homes had an average impact of 24.4 percent on gas prices used in homes across Turkey.
In the statement made by EPDK, it was stated that the natural gas tariffs valid as of August 1, 2024 were announced to the public by Petroleum Pipeline Corporation (BOTAŞ).
It was noted that the increases of 33.1 percent and 38 percent stated in the statement in question were increases reflected in the unit gas purchase price, and that the average effect of the 38 percent increase in the gas purchase price on the gas prices used in residences throughout Turkey was at the level of 24.4 percent.

“As a result, when the unit gas purchase price, system usage fee and taxes, which are the determining factors in the final bill, are calculated, housing prices have increased by an average of 24.4 percent for Turkey in general. In other words, the price of 1 cubic meter of natural gas has finally increased from an average of 7.6 liras to 9.4 liras. The sales price of natural gas used by free consumers with an annual consumption of 300 thousand cubic meters and below, excluding electricity generation, has increased by an average of 28.7 percent for Turkey in general. The price of 1 cubic meter of natural gas for these consumers has finally increased from an average of 11.8 liras to 15.2 liras.”
