SteelSeries introduces a new generation of Apex Pro Gen 3 gaming keyboards

SteelSeries introduces the third generation of Apex Pro gaming keyboards with improved switches that are supposed to be quieter and have a much better feel. It also brings with it a lot of software modes.

SteelSeries introduced the latest, third generation Apex Pro gaming keyboards. The focus fell primarily on quieter switches with better press response. Thanks to the new OmniPoint 3.0 switches with S-Tier Hall Effect technology, the actuation point of the keys can be adjusted from a sensitive 0.1 mm to a discreet 4 mm, giving players more control over movement and shooting. The response is also improved, the manufacturer states a flash response of 0.54 ms. The keyboard is available in both a full size and a reduced TKL version. There is also a choice between wired and wireless connection.

The keyboard also offers improved stabilizers and three layers of damping foam in combination with better lubrication of the keys, from which SteelSeries promises to eliminate unwanted rattling. This should give the keyboard a firmer and denser sound and, logically, a more premium impression. In addition, the new SteelSeries GG QuickSet software features also come with the keyboard, Protection Mode, Rapid Trigger a Rapid Tap.

Protection Mode reduces the sensitivity of the keys, thereby preventing accidental key presses in the vicinity of the pressed key and preventing unwanted actions in the game. Rapid Tap registers the press of the last key in a pair without having to release the first one, thereby speeding up the input information itself for the computer. Rapid Trigger, on the other hand, allows you to repeatedly press a key without having to fully release it, which is ideal for quickly spamming a single key. In addition, GG QuickSet offers presets of popular game profiles, including activation of various modes and RGB backlighting.

Of course, the keyboard has RGB backlighting, there is also a wheel for volume control and a small OLED display, for example to display the performance of the computer or the current mode. In addition to the keyboard, the package also includes a wrist pad. The Apex Pro Gen 3 is sold from €260 for the full version, the TKL version is available for €240 and the TKL Wireless Gen 3 for €290.
